Bhagavad Gita 2.22 — Like changing clothes
वासांसि जीर्णानि यथा विहाय नवानि गृह्णाति नरोऽपराणि। तथा शरीराणि विहाय जीर्णा- न्यन्यानि संयाति नवानि देही ॥
vāsāṃsi jīrṇāni yathā vihāya navāni gṛhṇāti naro'parāṇi | tathā śarīrāṇi vihāya jīrṇāni anyāni saṃyāti navāni dehī ||
Meaning
Just as a person throws away worn-out clothes and puts on new ones, the soul leaves worn-out bodies and takes on new ones.
In today's life
In times of loss, this verse reminds us that the one we love is more than the body we have lost.
